Our keynote interview brings probably the world’s leading privacy advocate and activist to Last Thursday in Privacy in the immediate aftermath of a case that could define the use of personal data by Big Tech in the future. Austrian lawyer Max Schrems was part of one of the most important international privacy cases in recent history - his case (Schrems I) resulted in the Court of Justice of the European Union invalidating the Safe Harbor arrangement which governs data transfers between the EU and the US.
On 16 July the outcome of Schrems II is expected - the second case concerning Facebook's transfer of personal data to the US. This in-depth interview with Vickie Guilloit will discuss the result of the ground-breaking case, its impact for organisations around the world and what’s next for the world’s leading privacy activists.
